Why maintain garden cushions?

We understand that you want to enjoy your garden furniture for many years to come and that garden cushions need to be easy to maintain. That's why all of our cushions have a dirt-repellent layer to prevent stains. However, a stain may still occur. That's unfortunate, but not a problem because with the right maintenance products your cushions will quickly look like new again! We have developed the best maintenance products specifically for our cushion fabrics. To make it as easy as possible for you, we have created an overview with all the information you need for maintaining your garden cushions. Cleaning garden cushions is very easy. Each material has its own unique properties. Read more about the maintenance of all of our cushion fabrics.

All-Weather cushions

With All-Weather cushions, you will always enjoy a beautifully dressed garden furniture set. This fabric is specially designed to withstand all weather conditions so you don't have to worry about bringing the cushions indoors. This is thanks to the outer cover of Soft Touch Textile, a comfortable fabric with tiny holes that let water through. This water then reaches the polyether filling and, due to the open cell structure, drains out of the cushion. As a result, the cushions have a shorter drying time, and you can quickly go back to enjoying the sunshine!

Cleaning All-Weather cushions

Eating on your garden furniture set is no problem with All-Weather cushions. If a stain does occur on your cushions, it's easy to clean. Thanks to the dirt-repellent coating, the stain doesn't penetrate the fabric. To keep the cushions water-permeable and prevent mould, it's important to keep the holes in the fabric open. You can do this by spraying the fabric with Life Outdoor Textile and Wicker Cleaner. For the best protection, do this at least twice a year. We recommend doing this in spring and autumn. This prepares the cushions for a new season, and in autumn, you protect the cushions from adverse weather conditions. The cushion covers can be washed in the washing machine. Afterward, they can be easily placed back around the inner cushions.

Soltex cushions

Soltex cushions are soft cushions that are weather-resistant. The combination of Soft Touch Textileen and Olefin make the cushions soft and permeable to water. The polyether filling allows water to pass through the cushions, making them dry quickly. Additionally, Soltex cushions have a natural look and feel.

Cleaning Soltex cushions

Because Soltex cushions are weather-resistant, you don't need to worry about moisture lingering in the cushions and causing mould. The antibacterial treatment prevents mould from adhering to the fabric. Additionally, the fabric is dirt-repellent, reducing the chance of stains. Therefore, Soltex cushions require little maintenance. To extend their lifespan, it's advisable to treat the cushions with Soltex Protector twice a year.

Comforma outdoor cushions

Comforma cushions, made of soft fabric, are ideal for under a veranda or canopy. They can withstand rain and are even water-repellent due to the Scotchgard treatment. However, we advise storing these cushions indoors during prolonged periods of rain.

Cleaning Comforma outdoor cushions

For Comforma cushions, we recommend using the provided Soltex Protector to keep the cushions protected from dirt, grime, and water. Since these cushions are not left outside all year round, twice-yearly maintenance should be sufficient. When storing the cushions, you can use the reusable plastic bags they were delivered in. However, ensure the cushions are stored dry to prevent mould formation in the bags.

Storing garden cushions

Once the temperature permits, you'll want to enjoy the sun, your garden, and your lounge set. Therefore, it's best to store the garden cushions if you’re not using them for an extended period of time. This helps preserve the cushions' quality and aesthetic. If your lounge set with cushions is set under a tree, make sure to regularly check for falling leaves and bird droppings and remove them promptly. If you're not using the cushions, store them in the cushion bag. The bag is made of waterproof polyester. All lounge cushions come with a luxurious bag, which you can re-use to store the cushions individually. Ensure the cushions are dry and clean before storing them. If using a protective cover, store the cushions separately to prevent moisture spots and mould.
