Together with their two lovely dogs, Wendy and David truly enjoy outdoor living. “We lived in an apartment for a while, and we really missed having a garden. So, the first time we could barbecue outside was a real joy.”

From Instagram to her own design

When it comes to inspiration, Wendy shares: “I mainly get my ideas from Instagram and Pinterest, and I also looked online for garden tips.” She took the initiative to design the garden herself, incorporating her own vision of plants and layout. A true creative spirit! The garden style they chose reflects the modern look of their new-build home: contemporary and sleek.

At first, Wendy and David faced a dilemma when it came to choosing garden furniture. They weren’t sure what would suit their garden best: a lounge set or a dining set? That’s when they decided to visit Life for advice. In the end, they opted for two stylish lounge chairs, a comfortable reclining bed, and a spacious dining set.

“I liked that they gave us space. You can ask as many questions as you like, and they don’t follow you around. They think along with you without putting on any pressure.”

Beautiful and practical

In terms of materials, they chose teak wood, despite the inevitable weathering. Wendy explains: “It does turn grey, but the maintenance product we received really brings the colour back nicely.” For unity, they selected materials that matched the colour of the house, the shed and the window frames.

Enjoying the sun

Wendy’s favourite spot in the garden is the dining set, where she enjoys the sunshine, reads and relaxes while the dogs happily run around. She sums it up with a smile: “For me, it’s the dining set. It’s beautiful, practical, and placed in a sunny spot. I just love sitting there.” David, on the other hand, prefers the lounge chairs, as they are perfect for relaxing.
