What Is Textilene?

Textilene is a strong and durable fabric made from woven polyester fibres coated with PVC. This material is widely used in outdoor furniture such as garden chairs, loungers and lounge sets, often stretched over an aluminium frame.

Thanks to its sturdy, shape-retaining structure, Textilene offers comfortable seating and has a long lifespan. It is water-permeable, dries quickly, and requires very little maintenance.

A special dirt-repellent coating prevents dirt from building up between the fibres, and its UV resistance keeps the colour looking fresh—even after long-term exposure to sunlight. Ideal for outdoor use!

How to Care for Your Textilene Garden Furniture

Step 1: Clean Your Furniture
Regularly remove dirt such as leaves, mud and dust using a soft cloth. Then rinse with a garden hose and allow to air dry.

Tip: Is your garden set under a tree? Remove bird droppings as soon as possible to prevent staining.

Step 2: Treat with Our Textilene & Wicker Cleaner
To maintain the dirt-repellent coating, it’s important to treat your furniture twice a year. Spray Textilene & Wicker Cleaner directly onto the material, let it soak in for 30 seconds, then clean using a damp (non-abrasive) sponge with circular motions.

Step 3: Rinse and Protect
Rinse thoroughly with water and let the furniture dry completely. For extra protection, apply our Textilene & RuCore Protector.

Important: Always make sure your furniture is fully dry before covering it with a protective cover to prevent mould.
