Everything You Need to Know About Soltex Garden Cushions

Soltex cushions

Comfortable, stylish and weather-resistant

Soft, supportive and made for the outdoors – Soltex cushions combine the best of both worlds. With their natural fabric look and feel, they resemble indoor cushions, yet they’re fully designed for outdoor use.

Perfect for anyone looking to style their garden or terrace with comfort and elegance – without worrying about the occasional rain shower.

Who Are Soltex Cushions For?

Soltex is ideal for those who spend a lot of time outdoors in spring and summer, and don’t mind putting cushions away during bad weather. These cushions can comfortably stay outside from March through October.

If you love spending time outdoors, enjoy a soft, luxurious look, and want your garden to always feel well-dressed, then Soltex is an excellent choice.

This material is perfect for:

  • Outdoor enthusiasts who value both comfort and appearance

  • Families looking for practical cushions without compromising on style

  • Anyone who can and is willing to store the cushions during autumn and winter

Do you live in a wooded area? Keep in mind that Soltex is slightly less easy to clean than All-weather fabric. A little extra care goes a long way – and we’re happy to help with that.

Features of Soltex Cushions

Want the comfort of textile with the durability of synthetic materials? Soltex cushions offer exactly that! Soltex is a high-quality blend of strong polyester yarn and soft olefin fibres. This combination provides a natural look and comfortable seating.

The fabric is tightly woven, water-permeable, low-maintenance and resistant to dirt, mould and fading.

Although Soltex is lightly water-permeable, it still holds up surprisingly well in rain showers. Thanks to its dense structure, the cushions dry at a steady, natural pace.

Tip: Has your cushion gotten wet? Gently press it and stand it on its side. This helps the water drain out and speeds up the drying process!

Benefits of Soltex Garden Cushions:

  • Can stay outdoors from March to October

  • Natural textile look with soft, comfortable feel

  • Resistant to dirt, mould and fading

  • Water-permeable and optionally water-repellent with added treatment

  • Cushion covers machine washable at 30°C

Our soft Soltex cushions are lightly water-permeable, making them suitable for outdoor use. Like All-weather cushions, they need some time to dry after a rain shower.

You can make them water-repellent by using our Protector, though this step is optional. This makes Soltex cushions a versatile choice: comfortable, and—when cared for properly—well suited to outdoor conditions.

For best results, treat the cushions with our Textile Protector as soon as you receive them, to help repel both water and dirt.

How to Care for Your Soltex Garden Cushions

Treat your Soltex cushions at least twice a year—ideally in spring and autumn. This keeps them protected against the elements and ready for every season.

Time needed: Approximately 30 minutes
What you’ll need:

  • Textile & RuCore Cleaner

  • Textile & RuCore Protector

  • Dry soft brush

  • Sponge or soft scrubbing sponge

  • Water

Step 1: Clean Your Soltex Cushions and Covers

Keep your garden cushions fresh by cleaning them regularly. Remove dust, leaves and mud with a soft cloth. Dab liquid stains immediately with a clean, dry cloth to prevent them from soaking in.

Tip: Is your garden set under a tree? Check regularly for bird droppings and remove them right away to avoid staining.

Step 2: Treat with Soltex Cleaner

Soltex has a dirt-repellent coating that protects against stains and mould. If the coating has worn off, use Textile & RuCore Cleaner.

Spray the cleaner onto the cushion and let it sit for 30 seconds. Wet a sponge or soft scrubbing sponge and gently rub the surface in circular motions. Repeat for any stubborn stains until they are gone.

Step 3: Rinse and Protect

Rinse the cushions thoroughly with water and allow them to dry completely outdoors. Then apply a new protective layer using Textile & RuCore Protector to restore their resistance to dirt, grease and moisture.

Important: Make sure the cushions are completely dry before covering or storing them to prevent mould growth.

Protect your cushions during the winter or long periods of bad weather by covering them or bringing them indoors. A protective cover helps, but indoor storage is the best option for a longer lifespan.
