What Is RuCore?

Rope is a versatile material that has been used for centuries – and today, it plays a key role in outdoor furniture. A great example of this innovation is RuCore: an advanced type of weave that combines durability, comfort and style.

RuCore is made from a cord with a rubber core, wrapped in polyester or synthetic fibres. The rubber core makes the material both waterproof and flexible. One of its main advantages is that it absorbs very little moisture, allowing it to dry extremely quickly after a rain shower. This makes RuCore perfect for year-round outdoor use.

The Difference Between RuCore and RuCore+

RuCore and RuCore+ are durable, flexible materials with a water-repellent rubber core that dries quickly and feels comfortable. The difference lies in the outer layer:

  • RuCore combines synthetic fibres with olefin, similar to Soltex cushion fabric.

  • RuCore+ is made entirely from synthetic material, like All-weather cushion fabric.

This makes RuCore+ even easier to clean.

How to Care for Your Garden Furniture with RuCore

RuCore is a durable, low-maintenance material that’s built to last for years. While it requires very little upkeep, occasional cleaning will keep it looking its best. It’s weather-resistant and easy to clean.

Step 1: Clean Your RuCore Garden Furniture

Regularly remove dirt such as dust, leaves and mud using a soft cloth. Use a mild cleaning agent and rinse with water. Allow the furniture to dry completely.

Tip: Remove bird droppings immediately to prevent stains.

Step 2: Treat with Textilene & Wicker Cleaner

For long-lasting protection, spray RuCore twice a year with Textilene & Wicker Cleaner. Let it soak in for 30 seconds, then scrub with a damp sponge using circular motions to remove any stains.

Step 3: Rinse and Let Dry

After treatment, rinse thoroughly with water and let the furniture air dry.

Important: Only cover your furniture once it’s completely dry to prevent mould.

Protecting RuCore Garden Furniture

If you use your garden furniture less during the colder months, a good protective cover is essential. It helps prevent surface damage from falling branches and leaves. Choose a waterproof cover that can withstand a variety of weather conditions.
