Maintaining Ceramic & Sintered Stone

Properties of Ceramic and Sintered Stone

Ceramic and sintered stone are strong, low-maintenance materials that are weather-resistant and colourfast. They offer exceptional resistance to heat, stains and scratches, and are built to last. Ceramic even features an additional glass and antibacterial coating, adding extra durability, hygiene and protection.

The Difference Between Ceramic and Sintered Stone

Ceramic and sintered stone look similar but differ in composition and production.

Ceramic is made from clay, minerals and colour pigments that are fired at high temperatures. This results in a surface that is resistant to scratches, heat and stains.

Sintered stone is made from natural minerals that are compressed under extreme pressure and heat. This process mimics the natural formation of stone, making it even stronger and more resistant to impact and weather conditions than ceramic.

Low Maintenance & Weather-Resistant

Cleaning Your Ceramic Garden Furniture

Ceramic is low maintenance, but for long-lasting beauty we recommend cleaning it a few times a year using our Ceramic Cleaner & Protector. Follow our steps for easy maintenance!

Time needed: Approximately 30 minutes
What you’ll need:

Step 1: Clean

Rinse your furniture with a garden hose to remove loose dirt such as leaves, dust and mud. Mix warm water with washing-up liquid and clean the surface using a soft cloth. Then rinse with clean water and allow it to dry completely.

Step 2: Protect with Ceramic Cleaner & Protector

After cleaning, apply a protective layer using Ceramic Cleaner & Protector. This creates a water- and dirt-repellent coating, getting your furniture ready for the outdoor season.

Shake the bottle well and apply a thin layer with a clean, dry cloth. Let it sit for about 30 seconds until a light haze appears. Then buff the surface with a dry cloth until it shines.

For optimal protection, we recommend repeating this treatment twice a year.

Protecting Ceramic Garden Furniture

If you use your garden furniture less during the colder months, a good protective cover is essential. It helps prevent surface damage from falling branches and leaves. Choose a waterproof cover that can withstand various weather conditions.

Our covers are made from waterproof polyester and feature a drawstring for a secure fit.
